The Middle School Concert Band is made up of students in the middle school grades 7 and 8. These students rehearse five days a week in separate classes and combine for monthly rehearsals during the year. The 7th and 8th graders perform in two concerts per year including the Holiday Winter Concert and the Spring Concert. In addition to their annual concerts, the students in the 7th and 8th grade ensemble support all of the middle school activities by way of providing entertainment at all middle school pep rallies and assemblies.
In addition to the ensemble performance requirements, these students are given the option to participate in the annual Homecoming festivities which include marching in the Homecoming Parade as well as on-field performances with the Deer Lakes HS Marching Band. The 7th & 8th Grade Concert Band is an active participant in the High Note Music Festival sponsored by Carnegie Mellon University and Kennywood Amusement Park,. |
